How does Invisalign® work?
Your Invisalign aligners are customized to fit your mouth. Dr. Duffy uses advanced 3D computer imaging technology to replicate an exact impression of your mouth and teeth, then he customizes each aligner so that it fits your mouth.
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks about 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final position. You’ll visit Dr. Duffy about once every six to twelve weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time typically lasts nine to fifteen months.
It's clear
With Invisalign clear aligners in Broken Arrow and Owasso, you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing because rather than wires and brackets, each Invisalign aligner is made of clear, medical-grade plastic that is virtually invisible and custom-made for your teeth.
It's removable
You can eat and drink what you want during treatment without worrying about breaking a bracket. Because you can take the aligners out when needed, you can eat all the nuts and apples you want! You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
It's convenient
Because there are no wires to change or tie in, the appointments are generally much quicker. And most of the time they can be scheduled with a longer interval between appointments. This means shorter appointments, fewer appointments, and overall less interruption to your busy day!
Invisalign® Teen in Broken Arrow & Owasso
Worried about your teen not wearing their aligner or losing it? Studies show that teens are more reliable than adults at wearing their aligners; however, to ensure your teen is wearing the aligners at least 22 hours a day, each aligner has a small, inconspicuous blue indicator dot. This indicator lets us, parents, and the teen know if the aligners are being worn as prescribed. And if an aligner is lost, Invisalign Teen offers six replacement aligners for free. However, your teen can often move into the next set of aligners without jeopardizing treatment; just call the office first to let Dr. Duffy make that decision.
